reminders heading into the holidays
This time of the year can feel hectic and stressful, but with some gentle reminders we can shift from pressure to presence and savour more of the season. Let’s remember to:
-Slow down: The season can get hectic, but reminding ourselves to pause and breathe will help bring forth a deeper sense of gratitude and keep us grounded in what truly matters; connection, kindness, and presence (not just presents!)
-Prioritize connection: Time with family, friends, and yourself matters more than checking off boxes, shopping lists, or the endless to‑dos. It’s the memories you make that matter the most (and they don’t have to cost a thing)
-Set boundaries: You don’t have to say yes to every invitation or expectation. Focus on gatherings, traditions, and commitments that bring you joy and honour your limits. Whether it’s financial, emotional, or physical, respect your own boundaries so you don’t end the year feeling drained and burned out
-Practice gratitude: Gratitude helps us focus less on what’s missing and more on what’s present. It also helps provide an anchor in the moment. When stress rises, pause to name three things you’re thankful for. You might also consider building a new holiday ritual such as keeping a holiday gratitude journal or sharing “one thing I’m grateful for” around the table
-Rest and recharge: While it may be tempting to stay up late during your holiday break, try to get 7-8 hours of sleep a night. Limit stressors such as social media, overcommitments, or people who drain you. Remember to stay hydrated, eat balanced meals while enjoying the holiday treats, and move your body. Let’s head in to 2026 feeling rested and ready for a new year.
Enjoy the season in a way that feels good for you 🫶
