Morning mantras to start Your day

A mantra is a word, sound, or phrase that can be said aloud or repeated to help inspire or motivate, or even in the midst of a meditation practice. Having a favourite mantra can be helpful to lower anxiety, feel relaxed, can help clear our minds of distractions, and even boost our mood and feelings of self-confidence.

What I’ve noticed about myself during these colder months is that I find it harder not hitting the snooze button on my alarm in the morning. As much as I would love to indulge in an extra 30 minutes of sleep in the morning, I know I need to get my day started (and our pup, Harry, wouldn’t let us sleep in anyway!). One thing that has been helping me in the morning is using a morning mantra to help get me up and out of bed at the first few chirps of my alarm.

Words hold power and meaning and can be a great motivating tool to inspire you to get your day started. Your manta should incite a feeling of excitement to rise and start your morning routine. You can think about your mantra, chant it to yourself in your mind, or say it out loud. I’m a fan of the latter, as it can be quite empowering. My morning mantra is, “Today is a fresh day filled with possibilities and I am grateful for all the abundance I will receive.”

Here are some morning mantras to use when you’re having trouble getting up:

1.) “Everything is possible for me today.”

2.) “I am energized and ready to take on the day.”

3.) “I am grateful for this new day.”

4.) “I am capable of handling anything that comes my way today.”

5.) “Today is a fresh start.”

Feel free to pick any of these to get your day started the next time you’re needing an extra boost in the morning or create your own!

What do you think of the idea of using a morning mantra, or mantras in general?
